This book is such a great way for someone who wants to take first steps toward veganism...one bowl at a time. These recipes are not at all intimidating, the ingredients are easy to find, and the directions are clear and simple. I've only tried just a few so far, but I can see that I will be fixing more and more and more! There are several I really liked: the Corn Salad with Basil Pesto Aioli (though I made it using half cooked and half uncooked corn straight from the cob); the Wedge Salad with Pepita Bacon; the Grilled Romaine Chop Salad; the Tex-Mex Potato Salad (I added a bit of chipotle to the mayonnaise for an extra flavour boost); and the individual Crudite Bouquet were fun. I haven't made the Walnut Chorizo Taco Salad, but that's definitely on my list...chorizo made using walnuts, who knew? And then there are desserts (the Ginger Cream Cheese Frosting Trifle is definitely calling my name!), sauces, dressings, dips and more. There are so many recipes in this book, and with your own tweeks here and there, the 100 could easily become 1,000. There are lots of pictures, which is nice, though I would have preferred more. Still, the pictures are quite nice.-Shirley
I have loved Vegan Yack Attack 's blog for years, I discovered it soon after going vegan. When I heard she was releasing a cookbook I knew I had to get a copy. I even pre-ordered it. The recipes are easy to follow, even my husband got out the book and made the chili , which he loved. There are soups, breakfast foods, dinner and salads, even desserts in this book. Something for everyone. If you are looking for a new cookbook, take a chance on this one. You wont be disappointed. -Michelini
The food is delicious. This is more of an advanced cookbook in my opinion, though, as each recipe component often needs to be made separately or ahead of time. These are not all quick-fix meals. That being said, lots of these recipes are keepers and several of them have become my weekly go-to meals. I would definitely recommend this book.-Andrew White
