I've been following 'Chopstick Chronicles', the Japanese food blog, for years so I knew I wanted their cookbook. With such beautiful and inspiring food photography, this book is on display on my living room table, not tucked away in a kitchen cabinet. Easy to follow recipes for beginners like me– it also looks like all the dishes would be easy to replicate at home, even if you're living outside of Japan and don't have access to every single ingredient. This cookbook will teach you how to make the "secret ingredients" from scratch, like homemade miso and amazake, at home! There are so many dishes in this book that I want to try making. I love that there are even recipes with miso for creme brulee, miso-sesame cookies, miso ice cream, and miso pound cake. I'm also excited to try out the amazake pancake and tamagoyaki recipes. I used to go to a restaurant in Tokyo specifically to eat their miso ground pork lettuce wraps- now I can make them at home. -Matt
