I was diagnosed with celiac in the late 1980’s and have learned the hard way how to bake and cook gluten free. This cookbook encompasses all you need to know. The recipes are easy to follow and clear. I especially appreciated her saving strategies and suggestions on where to buy ingredients. I have come to appreciate the ease of baking while using Better Batter and Cup 4Cup, which she recommends. I cannot wait to try wonton wrappers, the Pate A Chou and the yummy Chicken Pot Pie. Happy gluten free cooking and baking fellow celiacs. --Alexis

The second edition of Gluten Free on a Shoestring 125 Easy Recipes for Eating Well on the Cheap is a must have for the gluten free cook/baker. There are strategies for saving money, what to buy to stock your pantry, and recipes for every meal, sauces and desserts. I made the macaroni and cheese recipe from the book last night for dinner. My gluten eating family went back for seconds! Any recipe I have made from Nicole Hunn of glutenfreeonashoestring.com is a winner in my house! The whole gluten free world needs this book and the knowledge it imparts! --Mare

We got one for my mom for Christmas and I decided I needed one too. I've made several desserts from the book and everything is so yummy! I love the tips Nicole gives on how to eat on a budget, that's helpful because having been diagnosed with celiac disease my food budget tripled. This book helped me cut my costs to almost half of what I was spending and helped me have more confidence in making stuff from scratch. I thought it would be too time consuming to make stuff from scratch which would be hard since I have chronic pain and fatigue so I was worried about how much effort it might take. Surprisingly it doesn't take more than 20 minutes standing time to make most things from scratch. This book is wonderful, you have to get a copy for your home! --AMR
