Love Your Leftovers: Through Savvy Meal Planning Turn Classic Main Dishes Into More Than 100 Delicious Recipes |
Love Your Leftovers incorporates breakfast, lunch, supper, and treat choices just as a wide scope of foods. Every primary dish will have eight to ten imaginative plans for extras. Along these lines, in the event that you make a Roast Chicken one night, you would then be able to make Chicken Tortilla Soup, Creamy Chicken Pesto Pasta, or Chicken and Dumplings one more night. A Flank Steak can transform into Spicy Beef Wontons or Vietnamese Noodle Salad. Hot Black Beans can become Black Bean Burgers or Crunchy Black Bean Tacos. Love Your Leftovers will likewise highlight sections on kitchen and wash room nuts and bolts and Meal Planning 101, just as a supportive list of vegan and thirty-minute dinners.

I have been a subscriber to Nick Evan's blog for some time and have loved any recipe of his I've tried, so i was excited about a cook book. I was less excited when I heard it was related to leftovers, since I have a disdain for leftover food and eating the same meal more than once. The recipes in this book completely transform your leftovers into something new, which means you waste less and save more money, and the quality of food doesn't suffer. I love to cook. I have dozens and dozens of cook books, and I love trying new recipes. This book takes a different approach to cook books by helping you get the most of your money while trying new recipes. Instead of going to the store and spending $400 on groceries to try your 7 new recipes for the week, this book narrows that down to one major cooking endeavor and then ways to use the leftovers from that to create dishes that don't feel like leftovers. I recommend this book, especially for those like me who's shopping addiction is not the Gap, but the grocery store. You can have delicious meals without spending a fortune at the store.-Monica
This is a beautifully photographed and clearly written cookbook! You will also save money on your grocery bill by using your leftovers creatively rather than throwing them out because you can't stand to eat the same thing over and over again. I first "met" Nick, the author, on his website, Macheesmo.com while looking for a recipe that I had made from Cooks Illustrated magazine that was poorly written and too complicated. Nick is a very clear and generous writer and his preparation steps are very easy to follow with beautiful pictures. I have tons of cookbooks and had vowed to never buy a cookbook again, but couldn't resist, am glad I bought this one!-Valerie
So far, each recipe I have tried from this helpful book has been delicious...whether or not I used leftovers But the extra value comes from the guidance provided throughout the book. "Kitchen and Panrty Basics" includes a descriptive list of the most useful kitchen equipment and recommended foods and spices to keep on hand. In addition, the author provides sample meal plans. The index is complete and includes a key for quick, vegetarian, or favorite recipes. The photographs and commentary helps to make meal planning enjoyable.-Marjorie
