So there is nothing I hate more than a cookbook without pictures. The pictures make the book and I really like to see how my recipe was suppose to turn out instead of trying to guess, is it suppose to look like that? You won't be disappointed in this cookbook! This book is full of beautiful pictures, not every recipe has a picture, but it's darn close. Also, there are a lot of recipes and if you are a muffin, scone, quick bread, and easy yeast bread kind of cook, this book is for you.-ddkrdh
I have been trying to imitate my grandma's bread since I was 10 (65 now). I finally accomplished it with a recipe that called for the use of an electric mixer. My kitchen aid really activates the gluten and my loaves come out high and addictively moist!! Also, my husband accidentally bought some really stinky Asiago cheese and I didn't know what to do with it. The book has an amazing recipe for Asiago cheese bread--- imagine that. :)
I love this book. Been baking bread for over 50 yrs using old techniques---- this book has some great twists.-patty
Betty Crocker cookbooks shine when it comes to baking recipes. I learned to bake using the old Betty Crocker's Picture Cookbook and have moved onto baking with the The King Arthur Flour Baker's Companion: The All-Purpose Baking Cookbook or The King Arthur Flour 200th Anniversary Cookbook: All the joy and variety of baking-the experience and tradition of America's most historic flour company (King Arthur Flour Cookbooks). I still enjoy baking using Betty Crocker's recipes so I was happy to find the Betty Crocker Big Book of Bread. I'm glad I purchased this cookbook as I found many updated baking recipes to add to my baking repertoire.-Angel
