The pictures are so beautiful, and while many of the recipes include twists on classics, the author provides step by step instructions and really encourages readers that they can make these amazing desserts. The chocolate chips are to die for and among the best I have ever tasted or made. --Tammy Yuen
I just received last week and I did already make the mixed berry pie which was a huge hit for the whole family! I didn't even serve with ice cream. Very easy to make and made the house smell amazing we couldn't even wait to let it cool. While many recipes are geared towards summer, I did also see an apple pie recipe and lost of morning dishes such as cinnamon rolls, so I can see myself baking from this book all year long. The pictures and stories are beautiful too. I am so excited to try more of these recipes and definitely recommend! --Christina M.
I am surprised that after having made more than a dozen recipes from this VERY COOL AND BEAUTIFUL dessert book, I still have not written a review yet!! BEACH HOUSE BAKING: AN ENDLESS SUMMER OF DELICIOUS DESSERTS by Lei Shishak has become my favorite recipe book ever since I purchased it. Besides trying out her recipes, love those stories written alongside each recipe (a first in cookbook, for me), and luscious looking picture of each dessert - love it all. Following are some the desserts I will make again and again: beach house seashore cobbler, ruby cake, mini tiramusu icebox cake, cranberry oat scones, beautiful blueberry scones, windswept cherry pie, tropical carrot cupcakes with ginger frosting, dark chocolate cupcakes with creamy chocolate frosting, ultimate road trip cookie. I'm yet to make two of my favorite cookies; cocoa islands and modern snickerdoodle!! These cookies are on sale at her Sugar Blossom Bake Shop in San Clemente, Ca. Stop by and grab a few --Ngano
