I was so excited and pre-ordered this cookbook on Amazon because I liked her first one so much. While I haven't tried too many of these new recipes yet, I can tell you that I was fortunate enough to be in one of her classes when we made the Mexican salad, tortillas, beans and chicken tikka recipes from the book and they were all unbelievably delicious! Since I am not an innate/ instinctive cook, I really love how Pamela offers tips for HOW to cook things, not just giving the recipes. And she offers a lot of nutrition information that I just wouldn't get anywhere else--toxins, good proteins, etc. I'm a gen x'er who wasn't exactly raised on legumes!! Since I have been following her recipes, watching her on Instagram and looking at her site online my family completely agrees that my home cooking has elevated to a whole new level. What better review can you get then from your family? "mom, you have definitely stepped up your game" Thanks Pamela, its because of you. --A Gibble
Have been a fan of Pamela's recipes for awhile. Have her first book as well. This book is absolutely great! Ton of nutritious and delicious quick recipes that call for ingredients commonly found in our pantries. What I love the most are tips included on the side to adapt the recipes to various types of diets or easy possible swaps that will work well. AND recipes are really quick. I have two small kids at home (3 and 5) and majority of the recipes are kiddos friendly or require just little cut in seasoning. The breakfast section has so many cool ideas for quick and nutritious meals that kids absolutely love! I highly recommend this book if you want to cook at home more and serve high quality food without spending half a day in the kitchen. --MagDM
All my friends love Pamela's first cookbook, Kitchen Matters. And, this new one is awesome! It starts with a helpful list of what to keep in your pantry for healthy cooking. The recipes are easy to follow and it does not matter how much experience you have in the kitchen. I love that she offers tips and substitutions for the recipes in case you don't have the exact ingredients on hand. The Basics in the back are already in our rotation, especially the salad dressings. So easy and you will never want buy bottles dressing again. Thank goodness this cookbook arrived at a time when I am cooking for my family everyday...this will be our new go to book. The Mexican Chopped Salad with Chipotle Dressing was a hit today for lunch. So great to have recipes that do not take a long time to prepare! --Liz M
