Investigate Hattie's Restaurant, from a little customer facing facade dare to a notorious image of the Saratoga Springs people group
Hattie's Restaurant has been carrying great Southern cooking to Saratoga Springs, New York, since 1938, when Louisiana local Hattie Gray, at that point a family unit cook, set aside up enough cash to begin Hattie's Chicken Shack. Presently, their conventional and immortal admission can beauty your kitchen with the Hattie's Restaurant Cookbook, by Hattie's proprietor and culinary specialist Jasper Alexander. This book follows the café's history from the earliest starting point to the present through plans, stories, and photos. From downhome jambalaya to classic singed chicken, Alexander flawlessly interlaces Hattie's Southern roots with nostalgic natively constructed tastes, including:
- Singed Catfish
- Pimento Cheese
- Cajun Coleslaw
- Mississippi Salsa
- Yam Pie
Appreciate these scrumptious Southern dinners with your loved ones in the solace of your own sweet home. 100 shading photos

To be honest, this cookbook didn't turn out to be exactly what I thought it would be, but I am happy with the purchase. I was surfing around looking for an old cookbook my grandmother used years ago and found this. I'm always looking for authentic "old school" recipes and I thought this book would offer that. Truthfully, the recipes are more what I would call upscale takes on old classics, but that is not a bad thing. What makes the book unique is: One, it tells the history of the restaurant and the original owner (Hattie), and two, the VERY informative material and instructions for the ingredients and the method for each recipe. It's a small lesson in cooking technique and history for each dish. And there are definitely some recipes in it I intend to try. A nice addition to my cookbook library.-brbro
