Chef Doll's recipes, her tips and her wit are delightful! This book makes great reading even if you're not planning a meal; engaging, interesting and beautifully photographed, i've spent half the morning reading it. the Pressure Cooker tips are great, i've never used my dutch oven, but after reading "Dutch Oven : The Appetizing Kind [which made me literally laugh out loud], i've taken it out from the back of the top cupboard and i'm making a shopping list. A very beautiful, entertaining, and informative book [i hesitate to call it a 'cookbook' because it is so much more]. i can't wait for the next one.Amazon's shoddy packaging, and their reliance on the USPS for delivery marred an otherwise perfect buying experience. the book was packaged in an envelope in which the book barely fit, and was apparently mishandled; books with this sort of damage are not sold as new.-Tripaffleck
Chock full of indispensable wisdom on the foundations of cooking. As a "pro-am" level chef, I couldn't believe how much insight it gave me -- and how much I realized I have yet to learn. It's also great for "gear geeks" who love learning about best practices for setting up their workspaces -- the professional perspective on great kitchen tools and skills was unique and eye-opening. -Matt Eddy
Michelle makes it look easy! This book will be hard at work in our kitchen for years. Like the Classic Crème Brûlée, the recipes are all approachable yet awesome! And the troubleshooting makes me feel less like of a moron when trying something for the first time. -Keith Blakely
