About the Author
Anna Del Conte is the grande dame of Italian cooking. She was born in Milan and moved to England as a young woman in 1949, where she became the first cookbook writer to specialize in Italian food. She has written seven Italian cookbooks and a memoir. Her books have won numerous prizes, and her many fans include Nigella Lawson and Delia Smith.
Exactly what I had imagined Anna Del Conte's recipes to be like. Traditional, reasonably simple and readily available ingredients. Uncomplicated and easy to follow recipes, even for a very basic cook like myself. Loved both books and would readily recommend them to anyone. -Anne Marie
A stunning hardback, filled with colour plates and beautifully presented. The recipes are varied, divided int 6 sections;Salumi, Bruschetta and Crostini, Salads, stuffed Vegetable, Fish and Meat Antipasti and Other Favourites. Ingredients are easy to obtain and none of the recipes are complicated. Each recipe is accompanied by a short personal note about the origin of the dish or why Anna Del Conti included it in this collection. She is a wonderful cook and her books are inspirational. I believe she's now in her nineties, still cooking and still writing. -Vicuna
