These recipes are beautifully photographed so you have an idea of what you are making even if you are not familiar with all the Italian names. The recipes are very well written, with substitutions for items that may be regional. As a huge fan of Italian desserts, I am glad to have this in my cookbook arsenal. I love this book! I bought it because I have to cook if I want the lovely foods I grew up with in New York. I moved away and there are no places for this stuff here. I made my first chocolate 2-tier cake and it came out lovely and very decadent. I am a mid-level home baker and found these recipes to be quite easy. I really like that. I can enjoy myself while baking and have a wonderful finished product at the time time. Thank you!-Debbie_Jean 
The book is beautiful and I was curious how these recipes would work at a higher altitude and so I've already tried two of them. I made the mini croissants with jam and the apple and cinnamon sweet bread. The recipes were to easy to follow and both were wonderful and turned out as expected. I've already bought additional copies to give as gifts and will continue to try recipes from this wonderful book. -Suzyq2
