Myers+Chang at Home: Recipes from the Beloved Boston Eatery

From cherished gourmet expert and writer Joanne Chang, the main cookbook from her acclaimed Boston eatery, Myers+Chang

Grant winning and darling gourmet specialist Joanne Chang of Boston's Flour bread kitchen might be most popular for her tacky buns, however that is a long way from the restriction of her gifts. At the point when Chang wedded acclaimed restaurateur Christopher Myers, she would make him Taiwanese nourishment for supper at home each night. The couple before long understood nobody was serving food like this in Boston, in a cool yet agreeable café climate. Myers+Chang was conceived and has transformed into one of Boston's most well known cafés, and will commend its 10th commemoration in 2017, in the nick of time supposed to be available for public viewing of this hotly anticipated cookbook. These plans, all overflowing with flavor, are intended to be shared, and anybody can make them at home—attempt Dan Noodle Salad, Triple Pork Mushu Stir-fry, or Grilled Corn with Spicy Sriracha Butter. This is food individuals long for and will need to make over and over. Combined with the couple's #1 plans, the photography impeccably encapsulates the eatery, making this book a souvenir for gave fans.
I love cooking, I love good food, I love eating at Myers & Chang, and I’m a big fan of Joanne Chang, but I’m not excited about this cookbook. Why? The recipes are too complicated for a casual home cook. What gets me the most is seeing a recipe that I think is easy enough, then seeing that there’s a sauce or accompaniment that I don’t have key ingredients to make or is itself too complicated to make. Prime example is the Asian pizza. One of the “ingredients” is 1 cup Chili-Tomato Jam. Guess where you find that? Page 310. Surprise! Another full recipe that requires at least an hour and another lengthy list of ingredients. I flipped through and I think I flagged two or three recipes to try when I’m feeling adventurous and/or have loads of time. I’ve had this book for over a year and that time hasn’t come. I’m not giving up on the cookbook, but it’s definitely not one of the ones I keep within easy reach. --Lara

I went to Myers+Chang restaurant and must have ordered one of everything on the menu. I had to have the book. I made the Lemony Garlicky chicken soup and it was spectacular. I've added to my "favorite" soups. I plan to cook my way through the book. --Ritha

have been running through the recipes with my family and they are all pretty solid. Some of them have become staples. Make sure you have a source for asian groceries, but otherwise the recipes are straight forward and none of the preparation is too hard. Definitely recommend for those who like Asian cuisine and are comfortable in the kitchen --Kenneth Marimoro
