About the Author
Matt Lewis and Renato Poliafito left their day jobs in advertising to open their bakery, BAKED, in Brooklyn, earning immediate praise from fans across the country. They have been featured on Oprah, the TODAY show, the Food Network, and the Martha Stewart Show. Their previous books include Baked, Baked Explorations, and Baked Elements. Lewis and Poliafito live in Brooklyn.
I love all of the Baked cookbooks as there's always a bit of flair and twists to even the most mundane of baking projects, e.g. oatmeal chocolate chip cookies with a splash of bourbon. I made both the cover cake and the sour cream birthday cake for my daughter's birthday and they were such a huge hit it was almost embarrassing. I have people asking if I take orders in a most serious way. Always fun, always tasty. I keep their cookbooks and will never part with them even after I've tired of other cookbooks and donated them to book sales or given them to friends. Like all of the Baked cookbooks, this one's a keeper. -E. Easthon
I’ve made several of the cakes in this book! All delicious! My favorites are, hippy cake, Patrick’s drunk cake, hair of the dog cake, toffee coffee cake surprise! Dont forget salted caramel soufflĂ©, and dad’s black cocoa whiskey bundt cake!! All superior and wonderful!! -Debby Smirnoff
Every desert in here sounds amazing! My current favorite is the chocolate stout cake - which is simply amazing! I think this is the best cake I have ever made, and I can't wait to try out more recipes. -K.Lo
